Fluorination (Halex Exchange Reaction)

Sajjan India is developing specialty products that involve FLUORINATION. Fluorination involves the competent handling & storage of the main fluorinating agents - Sodium Fluoride, Potassium Fluoride, Ammonium Bi Fluoride & Hydrogen Fluoride - as well as special equipment such as Hastelloy Reactors.

1)

RAW MATERIALS :

Hydrogen Fluoride (HF) and Potassium Fluoride (KF) are commodity products which are produced in bulk in India & freely available from several producers. Hydrogen Fluoride is packed in cylinders of various sizes & potassium fluoride is packed in drums.

EQUIPMENT : We have installed the following Hastelloy equipment


  • 2 ltr Hastelloy Autoclave - Lab
  • 50 ltr & 1000 ltr Reactors - Pilot Plant
  • 10000 ltr Reactor - Plant
  • 10000 ltr APND - Plant

We have started trials with Halex reaction. We have also budgeted for several more Hastelloy reactors based on the opportunities that we see for fluorinated compounds. Other reactors, for pre-fluorinated & post-fluorination processes, such as Glass lined and stainless steel reactors are already installed.

STORAGE & HANDLING :

We have several decades of experience in handling & managing hazardous chemical substances. Our safety record is excellent. We manufacture several products that involve equally hazardous chemicals such as - Hydrogen Chloride Gas (5mt/day), Chlorine Gas(20mt/day), Hydrogen Gas(3000 nm3/day), Phosphorous oxychloride (40 mt/day), Phosphorous trichloride (15 mt/day). The facility that we will have to handle Hydrogen Fluoride will be as per best industry standards.

OTHER ADVANTAGES :

Our expertise in CHLORINATION & BROMINATION as important chemical reactions for the Agrochemical industry is well established. Since FLUORINATION is involved in further up streaming in several such products, we could develop & supply such products under "one window" which would lead to considerable saving in cost & time for our customers.
